Undoubtedly the most popular Park on Walt Disney Resort property, Magic Kingdom welcomes around 56,000 guest per day. It has classic attractions, iconic characters, legendary shows, and epic food, put all that together and it can be a bit overwhelming. Here I will go through a few tips and tricks to help navigate everything Magic Kingdom has to offer. Here we go!
1. Rope Drop! Magic Kingdom generally opens its gates 1 hour before the published hours. This is great to get in the park, take that iconic picture in front of the castle, and maybe grab a must needed Starbucks. You will only be able to hang out in the hub area but you can make your way to whichever land you are going to first and be the first one in line at the rope for when it drops and allows guest to come into that land.
2. Go left! Speaking of the Hub and rope drop, most everyone goes right. They walk on the right down Main Street, go right towards Fantasyland and Tomowland. You will find most mornings, Adventureland and Liberty Square are less crowded. Good time to ride popular rides like Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion. Save you Fast Passes for other rides.
3. Fast Passes! Make your first FPs around 10:00, etc...once you use those 3 FPs, you can make another one. Its better to use them up in the morning so you will have time to add more later in the day. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, Peter Pan's flight, and Splash Mountain usually have the longest wait times so try to get FPs for those first.
4.Food! Make those Advance Dining Reservations as soon as you can for restaurant like Be our Guest that are so hard to get into. There are a ton of quick service and snack places around the park that offer some amazing variety of foods. Most of them have the mobile ordering option on My Disney Experience app. It fast and easy, you skip the long line and just walk up and get your food. I highly recommend this.
5. Closing time! Magic Kingdom roughly stays open 90 minutes after the published closing time. They will do a cute little show on the castle appropriately called "A Kiss goodnight". This is a great time to get those night pictures with no one else in them. Its magical!
