Disney Cruise Line is known for their exemplary service, their elegant accommodations, and their magical entertainment, but what about their food? In addition to their wonderful main dining options, Disney Cruise Line also offers two exclusive adult-only restaurants that are available for an additional fee. These two restaurants are Palo and Remy. My personal favorite and one we make sure to visit every cruise is Palo.
Location:
Palo is located on all four of the Disney Cruise ships and is available to be booked during brunch and dinner. It is located on deck 12 on the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy, and deck 10 on the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder.
Atmosphere
Palo is themed around Northern Italy, with specific nods to Venice. In fact, the name, “Palo,” comes from the Italian word for “pole,” which pays homage to the signature long poles used by the gondoliers in Venice. If you keep an eye out, you’ll notice several elegant details around the restaurant that pay homage to these gondoliers.
One of my favorite things about Palo is the incredible view thanks to the restaurant’s numerous floor to ceiling windows! Palo is specifically designed with spectacular ocean views in mind. The restaurant is built in an almost semi-circular fashion, which means nearly every table has an amazing view of the sea.
The best part, the food!
While Palo is a la carte during dinner time, Palo is a completely different story during brunch! For brunch, there is a brunch menu available that includes numerous sweet and savory choices that are perfect whether you’re in the mood for breakfast options or if you’re looking for something a little more hearty! In addition to being able to order from the menu, you also have free access to Palo’s amazing brunch buffet! The buffet includes four different stations. There is a pastry station, a seafood station, cheese and meats station, and the best station, desserts! Everything we’ve tried has always been delicious! And, the best part is, the buffet and the menu entrees are all included in the price! So, whether you’d prefer to fill up at the buffet, or order one of each entree, it’s all included! No matter what you choose, you’ll never go wrong, as everything is absolutely delicious! Disney certainly makes sure you won’t leave hungry!
Palo Dress Code
Since Palo is one of Disney Cruise’s adult-exclusive restaurants, they do request that you abide by their strict dress code. According to Disney’s website, Disney requests that “Tank tops, swimsuits, swimsuit cover-ups, shorts, hats, cut-offs, torn clothing, t-shirts with offensive language and/or graphics, flip-flops or tennis shoes are not permitted at Palo. We thank you for your understanding and your cooperation with the following dress requirements at both dinner and brunch.” Overall, Disney requests that the ladies either wear a nice dress or nice pants or skirt and a top (jeans are okay, as long as there are no rips,) and men wear nice pants and a collared shirt.
Reservations
Palo Brunch is available on any 4-night or longer cruises. Once the booking window for your cruise opens, you will book the Palo brunch under the Planning Center. Brunch reservations sometimes have a tendency to go fast, so it is recommended that you book as soon as your booking window becomes available!
Overall thoughts
With numerous free dining options available onboard, I often get the question whether it’s worth it to spend the extra money for the adult-exclusive restaurants. My answer is always a 100x YES! Whether you book Palo brunch or dinner, From the spectacular views, wonderful service, and delectable dishes, it’s absolutely worth it!
